Islamic Republic of Iran: GNU/Linux at All-time High This Month, Windows Falls to 12%
Sliding towards 10% or less
Last month we noticed that amid further alienation from the West Iran was reducing its ridiculous reliance on Windows, which had long been a national security liability. This month's early data from statCounter shows an ongoing trend continuing; GNU/Linux is near 4% now and, factoring in mobile devices, Windows is becoming almost irrelevant.
So only about one in 8 Web requests from Iran can be traced back (with certainty) to Windows. Almost nobody there uses Vista 11; Vista 10 is up this month despite being "end of life" (EoL) soon. █
