Only on April 1st Can the Free Software Foundation Associate With Microsoft's Open Source Initiative (OSI)
We saw some pranks that day linking the FSF to Microsoft (e.g. "endorsing" Windows)
2 days ago we saw a prank post about FSF acquiring OSI. It was by Jason Self, who is "co-maintainer of GNU Linux-libre, along with Alexandre Oliva."
Self's blog (RSS Feed) is promoting Software Freedom quite well. It also uses neat and light software (back end), not something bloated like Drupal and WordPress, which caused many people to "fall out of love" over a decade ago (feature churn).
This month - and probably next month as well - we'll write a lot more about the OSI and habitually about the FSF and its founder.
With several credible OSI whistleblowers out there, this should be fruitful. We have reliable information.
Some time next year we'll turn 20, which is half the age of the FSF (announcement of GNU was September 27, 1983; the FSF was founded on October 4, 1985). 2 days after the FSF officially turns 40 we'll likely face in court the person we sued last year [1, 2], based on a tentative schedule. So there will likely be more than one thing to celebrate that month. █
