This is the true part of the series, you begin to hear the static, that is in every song. This static will only become more apparent later on.

Decoupling Updates
There have been countless times where we end users have booted up our computers or unlocked our smartphones, only to find that our home screens and apps have completely changed. Everything is in the wrong place. We cant find programs or apps we installed and used regularly. Menus move around and use different names and icons. When we do find what we want, it doesn't work the same way, or it doesn't work at all. This is the scourge of software updates.
Not all updates are so bad. The best and most important updates are ones companies hardly ever talk about: security updates. Vulnerabilities are found in software every day, some extremely serious, and it's important to fix those vulnerabilities. What we're told about, though, and what we're subjected to all too often, are the dreaded feature updates.

Capsules update - April 2025
I finally did it! 1 year and 2 days after my last published article on my gemlog, not only I’m posting here again, but I also managed to bring my blog back to gemini in a better shape than before, while migrating it and my other capsules to their “new” server. It isn’t new per say, it is just my capsules new home, selfhosted at home with almost all my services. It was, until now, hosted in a digital ocean droplet (with my GoToSocial fediverse server, that needs to be moved as well so that I can finally delete that droplet).

I came to the conclusion that my favorite Gemini browser on a mobile device was Elaho. Unfortunately, Elaho was not updated and was removed from the phone after reinstalling it, and since it is no longer available in the store, I cannot reinstall it. To my delight, Elaho remained on the old tablet and I can still use it there. Why not Lagrange? I think the fixed-width font and simpler interface suit me better. Do you know where you can watch archived episodes of old-school series? Not always on YouTube, but more often on the Internet Archive.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
