Windows Has Fallen to All-Time Lows in Switzerland Since GNU Celebrated 40th Anniversary (GNU’s 40th Birthday in Biel, Switzerland)
Months ago Richard Stallman spoke in Switzerland again [1, 2]. That's where he had previously celebrated GNU, "his baby", turning 40. The FSF too will soon turn 40. Slashdot Media recalls: "Richard Stallman founded the Free Software Foundation as a nonprofit in 1985 with four other directors (including MIT computer science professor Gerald Jay Sussman). Sussman remains on the Board of directors, along with EFF co-founder John Gilmore and five others." (Odile Bénassy left months ago, but she is still a voting member along with Alexandre Oliva)
We've only just noticed that Windows sank to new lows in Switzerland, based on statCounter:
It has been heading down for several consecutive months. The FSF's Program Manager is Swiss.
GNU/Linux has been doing well in Switzerland. Will "tariff wars" accelerate this trend? It certainly will in China, where large OEMs move away from Windows [1,2]. █
