GNU/Linux Would be Measured at Over 5% Globally (by statCounter) Had the Data in India Not Been Changed
Months ago we published several articles which said something to the effect of, if statCounter shows GNU/Linux not growing anymore, that's due to the component which is India. Notice how it was measured at over 17% about half a year ago:
GNU/Linux grew a lot in many countries and has expanded since then (based on statCounter) and if the world's largest population (India) had less "Unknown" (notice it's unknown, not Windows, gaining at the expense of GNU/Linux), we'd be able to say - citing statCounter at least - that GNU/Linux is on about 1 in 20 desktops/laptops, not counting "Chromebooks" (laptops with GNU/Linux installed on them, albeit remotely controlled by GAFAM). █
