StatCounter Shows the Market Share of Vista 11 is Decreasing in Ukraine This Year
Microsoft abandoning Vista 10 users would be a victory for Vladimir Putin
StatCounter (or statCounter) has this data suggesting that for the past half a year or so Vista 11's "market share" decreased in Ukraine. The decrease is quite consistent. Maybe their priorities aren't "buy an hey hi PC". Microsoft no longer providing security patches for Vista 10 would devastate Ukraine. It would make it even more vulnerable (to hostile actors) unless users delete Vista 10 and install GNU/Linux (or BSD) instead.
This month it is estimated that 70% of Windows users in Ukraine use Vista 10 (almost half of all Web-connected devices). That's a lot.
Historically, Microsoft failed to see what was wrong with Putin's iron grip in Russia. Microsoft's co-founder and habitual pervert Bill Gates was seen and photographed around Dmitry Medvedev. █
