This new and somewhat alarming report says that right now "Microsoft makes passkeys the default authentication method for all new accounts", so do what PewDiePie did after he had been "tortured by Windows".
The passkeys, an associate reminds us, are vendor lock-in plus increased surveillance.

This issue is separate from many others where lock-in is falsely cast or misleadingly marketed as "Security" (with a capital S, it has nothing to do with actual security, it's a choke-worthy buzzword). Some months ago we sued [1, 2] the #1 shill of TPMs inside Linux, basically a Microsoft operative who loves to defame people that eminently advocate real security and actually have Computer Science background. █
