Good and Evil
As some people who read my phlog or gemlog might know, I'm an agnostic atheist, which means, I don't know if there's a god but I don't believe so. I never witnessed any kind of miracle, and I feel calm and good with that. It would be very disturbing to me if there were such things. Reality is already unpredictable enough without divine intervention. And if there was a god it must be god which is only contemplatively watching what's happening.

But there are evils which are deliberately and knowingly not prosecuted by law. These are mostly the evils done by big corporations, which are fined sometimes a few bucks but nothing that would hurt them. Nobody ever goes to jail for exploiting the population or the earth itself. And the politicians deliberately make laws that benefit themselves and mostly the upper class and elites. And they know. They're greedy and depraved. They have crossed the line by far. But I think even *these* people don't think they're evil. They've lost that feeling for good and evil.
These people think they're giving people jobs, while cutting thousands of positions and exploiting the rest as much as possible. They are "important," and have to make hard decisions for the good of all, according to their reasoning. You rarely hear that they make their decisions solely for their own benefit and for their shareholders (which is, of course, what they are doing). These Elites are the real evil. They couldn't care less for common people.

Compliments Hit Different When You're Middle-Aged
Out before my evening plans yesterday, I was leaving the coffee shop after refilling my jar of beans. Crossing the street, a middle-aged woman, somewhere around my own age, smiles at me, and calls out, "I like your hair!"

I'm Considering a Breaking Change to My Git Server
Ever since I left GitHub and ran my own Git server, I hosted my repositories on vigrey.com/git/. This never entirely sat right with me, so I think I will work soon-ish towards changing that. My intention is to host my git server at the git subdomain instead, so git.vigrey.com.
When will this happen? I don't know. Will this break things? In theory, yeah, but I kind of doubt my code is being actively pulled in a meaningful enough way to really result in issues for anyone other than myself. If scraping software could feel anything, they might feel annoyance for a moment until they eventually find the new sources.

In Which LLMs Made the Web Worse Yet Again
I don't think I have complained in a post yet about LLMs (Large Language Models). Well, let's fix that!
(This post is an anti-LLM rant post, but more importantly to me, it's an anger at the modern web requiring Javascript everywhere post in disguise)
While working on projects over the last few days, I have noticed something quite annoying while looking up resources... Almost every website I end up going to (outside of the search engine website itself) requires I wait 10-30 seconds while an icon spins around, just to be told to click on a checkbox to prove I'm a human.
