2025 Will be a Big Year For GNU/Linux on Desktops/Laptops
Vandalism is Microsoft's "last resort"
Now that giant OEMs let people get GNU/Linux PCs for an affordable rate (no Windows) and influential people dump Windows for GNU/Linux we've noticed more and more people looking for GNU/Linux news and more sites (e.g. Tom's Hardware) pivoting to GNU/Linux coverage. The sister site, which turns 21 in exactly 4 weeks from today, is also seeing a lot more traffic this year (than in previous years) and it looks as if Windows codebase became too complicated to maintain. The technical debt is untenable.
GNU/Linux already dominates almost every market segment, except laptops (or desktops). That's quickly changing though. The faster Microsoft falls, the faster GNU/Linux "catches on" (with an economy like this, people who don't live in rich countries won't turn to Apple). █
