may 24 weekend away, still hooked
Traveling to my mother's place. There is no better place to be to learn about my lack of love.
Yesterday I reflected about my last heart break, and how it seems to piggy back on my last year separation.
My grieving wasn't over when I met this new girl, and she took a role in my healing. But I got quite addicted to her. Now it seems like the both relationship comes crashing at the same time.

Herding the cattle better with advanced HP 12C techniques
This surely is not my last 12C-related post here, but probably my final post about porting Bulls and Cows onto this surprisingly capable pocket machine. As you might have told, the previous version was quite slow, especially on the initial target number generation phase, and required rather complicated setup. Within the previous week, I discovered a bunch of "hidden" 12C functionality that not only allowed me to make that phase a bit faster, but also to simplify the setup and to compress the entire program code. Let's dig into that a bit, shall we?
If you remember, I had written in my previous posts that the 12C doesn't have indirect memory addressing and indirect jumps. The latter, as far as I know, still holds true (unfortunately), but the former turned out to be pretty much false. The 12C, in fact, DOES have indirect memory addressing. What's more, it even has some special-purpose registers that can only be accessed indirectly! But let's begin from the very beginning.

USB Camera Viewer
Simple Android app to display video feed from a connected USB camera. There are no controls or configuration - the app automatically detects the camera and displays the video using the highest resolution possible. The view area uses the most of the device's display, and might distort the original image.

Fantasy Life i
I failed to read the fine print and didn’t realize it wouldn’t be releasing for Switch on Sunday. Instead, it was PC and PS5 that were able to play pre-release with the deluxe edition. I wasn’t willing to gamble that it might be able to play under proton on one of my intel boxes, so I bought it for PS5. It works for steamdeck users, so it should work for the rest of the Linux crowd, but there was a chance it just might not work on my hardware.

velcro tape and a pelican (case)
I used the hook side of the velcro on the hard plastic case so that everything that needed to be affixed would have the soft velcro. This way, anything not actively in the case doesn’t post a risk of uncomfortable scratching.
I affixed the soft velcro to the bottom of the lcd, the back of my TH40 and my Atreus, and a battery that hides behind the screen.
With a right angle USB C male to female dongle I’ve routed one cable between the screen and the battery with an in-line power button.
