More Mass Layoffs Coming Soon to Microsoft, Just a Question of When and How Many
Earlier this month: If the Gossip is True, Today Microsoft Has "Large M1 Meetings" to Discuss Almost 30,000 More Microsoft Layoffs in 2025
A recent rumour, which was very plausible (based on prior leaks) and turned out to be accurate, said 10% of all Microsoft staff would get sacked (not counting 'wilful' departures).
Earlier this month Microsoft admitted it was laying off lots of people. The real number affected was vastly higher than what the media, manipulated (groomed) by Microsoft, reported. Some Microsofters said so themselves. From what we're heard from insiders, the cuts went very deep. Managers were removed, many crucial developers too got removed. It's about reducing costs, it has nothing too do with buzzwords. Forgot the "AI" nonsense.
Numbers from Washington were close to 5% and judging by prior rumours, it would be 5% + 5% (total 10%) at a later month. The question is, which month. The exact date in May was stated accurately, but the second wave's date was never specified (probably still subjected to inside debate/negotiation), albeit there are new rumours today.
From 5 hours ago:
August would make sense, based on prior years. The media is mostly absent (summer holiday) and the same goes for staff.
The Microsoft layoffs are far from over. █
