Some of the Many Reasons We Sued Microsofters for Harassment
The perpetrators of harassment love painting themselves as the victims. Nothing could be more offensive than such gross inversions and reversals.
We'd sue them for more had they not hidden in some forest or in dad's home in another continent (they're collaborating [1, 2]; they've already refused to deny this 3 or 4 times because it's clearly abusive, as we explained before [1, 2])
Since the SLAPPers decided to send trial data to a party of interest (which had paid salaries!), namely Microsoft, it's not unreasonable for us to comment on some of the material we intend to use in trial [1, 2], including: (as covered in the past 3 weeks)
- [E1] Matthew J. Garrett threatening people in and from the
#techrights
IRC channel - [E2] Matthew J. Garrett sending threatening communications to webhosts
- [E3] Matthew J. Garrett issuing threatening ultimatums to Rianne Schestowitz (women had the right gut feeling about this man who boasts about going to FOSS conferences in pursuit of sex)
- [E4] Matthew J. Garrett admits uttering transphobic views as an adult (showing or demonstrating his sheer hypocrisy)
- [E5] Matthew J. Garrett talks about a female colleague being afraid of him (women's gut feeling)
- [E6] Matthew J. Garrett advertises in his site, perhaps facetiously, that he offers coding services in exchange for "Sexual favours"
- [E7] Communication in which Matthew J. Garrett admits that he is hijacking usernames and impersonating other people (misbehaving online and libeling people using sock puppets/identity theft)
- [E8] Matthew J. Garrett's blog/public posts in which he speaks about breaking into other people's devices
- [E9] Matthew J. Garrett's public talk in which he speaks about breaking into other people's e-scooters
- [E10] Matthew J. Garrett boasting about looking for low-cost lawyers to do something "funny" (alluding to this lawsuit as a stunt or a public spectacle, set aside costs for both sides and case management limitations)
- [E11] Matthew J. Garrett boasting about trying to use legal action to take over the domain of the site that speaks about him, Techrights (openly contemplating how to use a lawsuit - for de facto site abduction - as means of "settlement" through extortion)
- [E12] Matthew J. Garrett speaks of looking for sex in public events about FOSS (Free/Open Source software), leading up to a meritless SLAPP pre-action letter (that he didn't follow up on)
- [E13] Evidence that Matthew J. Garrett's Defence contains lies signed with a "statement of truth"
- [E14] Matthew J. Garrett speaks of wanting to stab colleagues
- [E15] Matthew J. Garrett speaks of axes and murder fantasies in his own homepage (the blade theme is prevalent)
- [E16] Matthew J. Garrett speaks of wanting to punch Bruce Perens, the man who started "Open Source" (or OSI)
- [E17] Matthew J. Garrett speaks of job offers from Microsoft
- [E18] Microsoft's Alex Graveley, who helps Matthew J. Garrett with extortion by filing another SLAPP using the exact same lawyer and same barrister at strategic times (issuing threats about 6 times), speaking about Matthew J. Garrett in his own Web site in a prominent page, referring to him as "former Microsoft researcher" (they have known each other for many years; they're professionally and personally connected)
- [E19] Alex Graveley offering to drop the case (the exact same lawyer and same barrister) in exchange for deletion of articles and nothing else (no legal fees, no apologies etc.)
- [E20] Matthew J. Garrett stating the UK should "Decriminalise most drugs" in his public Twitter account.
They try to insist I should not write about what actually happened. Why? Because it's embarrassing them. They don't believe in free press and free speech.
In the above, [E1], [E2], and [E3] show a long history of threatening behaviour, [E4], [E5], and [E6] demonstrate serious behavioral problems (going as much as 20+ years back), [E7], [E8] and [E9] show disregard for laws, [E10] shows mockery of courts, [E11] (already covered in Tux Machines and in Techrights, so included in the appended material in the Particulars of Claim, hence already in the Bundle) shows misuse of courts, [E12] shows CoC violations, [E13] shows lies to courts, [E14+E15+E16] show glorification of violence, [E17] and [E18] show connections to Microsoft, and finally, [E19] (in Brett Wilson's possession already, but they try to pretend it never happened and cannot be brought up!) shows extortion by Microsoft staff. [E20] is very much relevant because the spouse has effectively been locked up due to addiction (and publicly expressing suicidal intents) - another timely event in light of comments publicly made by the husband.
As we explained before (more than once), prominent journalists advised us to make such information public because injustice can be bred in darkness. Transparency lets people out there understand what's really happening. █
