Slop in 'AI' Clothing is a Passing Fad, We'll Get Past It (Like Blockchain Before That)
If one assesses usage levels of Bing or ChaffGPT or "open" "hey hi", one soon realises that despite Microsoft sticking those anywhere it can the usage isn't growing. In fact, "open" "hey hi" now relies on more bailouts from the US taxpayers, though it won't be enough to offset the losses or pay off the fast-growing debt.
There's this new shallow and fake report from "Inside Towers". It's really lousy and as one can expect it seems to be a slopfest:
It's basically one of many examples of slop about slop and an associate explains that this boils down to "wasted electricity; current models don't get better with scale, just more expensive".
One must bear in mind that a lot of so-called 'articles' about slop (they say "AI") are not articles but spam made by the very thing they're aiming to promote. It's like slop fighting for its own survival by advocacy of slop.
I personally (and also others I know) limit myself to a set of sites that I trust; all the rest can be presumed slop or be suspected by default. That's why we keep saying that Web directories have a growing need.
Many people cheat in exams using slop and there are professionals that try using slop as a "shortcut"; but once they get caught, which will happen sooner or later, nobody will trust them again. If you send someone a stupid E-mail and then admit you didn't really send it but a bot did, how will that someone feel? What will that do to the reputation of a business?
Sooner or later people will recognise the hype was sold based on a lie. █
