Pure Dove
"Purists" aren't wrong
"Pure Dove" or "Pure" as we call her (it's shorter) is the most prominent or recognisable bird in our yard. She's purely white and her body is reasonably large.
"Pure" is also a nice metaphor. My wife and I only ever use Free software and in that sense we are "Purists" as some people might call it. From my understanding, many terminals we use are also Free software ("OpenSUSE" for instance), but those ones - like ATMs - aren't owned by us, so it would be unfair to call "impure" Free software activists/advocates who merely try to withdraw cash from the bank.
Last week's Hearing was accessed by landline; this means that, from my end at least, a Linux-based handset was used. Whether that appliance complies with GPL obligations is another matter, but I didn't install any proprietary software on my PC, nor did I run some proprietary "webapp".
"Pure" has a simple life. No "apps". No worries. Every morning she must wait till 7AM and then we feed her every 2 hours. Being "Pure Dove", unlike the other dozens of birds, helps her stand out.
Being different from all the rest (like the "black swan") doesn't mean being wrong. Different means different, and sometimes those who "deviate" from "the norm" have a point. █
