statCounter shows why Windows is in trouble and - by extension - Microsoft is also in trouble
Microsoft's monopoly is in trouble and its dominance in the public sector is also in trouble, thanks in part to US politics (for instance, threats to annex Greenland and Canada, even locking judges out of their Microsoft accounts). As the image below shows, we can expect Android to widen its lead; it's already by far the most used operating system for client devices. Desktop or laptop devices are shrinking in number (not just relative share or proportion) and based on surveys, not limited to statCounter's, many are converted to GNU/Linux. █
