Microsoft LinkedIn is Dying and Many More Layoffs Are on the Way
As noted earlier, Microsoft LinkedIn has many more layoffs on the way. The site came up some ~30 hours ago in relation to the slop or "AI" (it's not intelligent) passing fad:
Who would want slop to be sent under one's own name for git commits, E-mail, publications etc. and why is it that not many people in the media mention how Bruce Perens complained his posts in LinkedIn were used without consent to make slop?
They have no business model; they still try to find one.
What's the point being in LinkedIn at all? Sharecropping for Microsoft?
Some people participating there, which seems foolish and self-harming, think it would give them audience. However, statCounter says that the relative share of that site is only 0.6% this month. That's more than 10 times less than MElon's X.com and more than 100 times less than Facebook:
LinkedIn is just a failed acquisition of Microsoft. It causes losses and debt. It lies to people about being a way to find a job and it helps people paint a false description/picture of what they do, what they did, how many people they are connected to etc. In reality, it helps people 'dox' themselves, i.e. give a lot of personal information about oneself, even to hostile companies and people. Remember the time - or the "old days" - when people uploaded CVs to actual recruitment (not social control media) sites or sent them privately by E-mail? After a period of time they would be purged to avoid risk of data misuse. █
