Microsoft Layoffs Next Week: About 10% to be Laid Off in Microsoft Gaming (2 Days Before Independence Day), About 20%+ of XBox Staff
Microsoft is rapidly collapsing
The number of employees in "Microsoft Gaming" is 20,100 (2024), according to Microsoft Wikipedia (well, Wikipedia but edited/curated by Microsoft staff). Most of that staff was just 'inherited' from Activision, so when this week's news reports say ~2,000 XBox workers will face cuts - not an obscene or unbelievable assertion given that sales collapsed and whole products recently got canceled - they might in fact be low-balling or downplaying the scope, magnitude etc. Studios will get shut down as well.
The rumour about the second wave being a lot bigger than the "first" (actually about eighth this year) is starting to seem very credible, very potent.
Like we said in May: If the Gossip is True, Today Microsoft Has "Large M1 Meetings" to Discuss Almost 30,000 More Microsoft Layoffs in 2025 █
