Who do you support, JBanana?
When people find out that I watch F1, they often ask who I support. The straightforward answer is, no one. OK, the more nuanced answer is that I like to see the underdog beat the usual suspects. If Schumacher, or later Hamilton, or now Verstappen wins yet another race, I might admire their dominance, but it's not fun to watch. I'm hoping for an entertaining race where the outcome is genuinely in doubt. I'm hoping for someone to fulfill their potential; to prove the doubters wrong, at least this once. I want something unexpected to happen; for the race to be memorable; to see something I haven't seen before. It was very pleasing when Vettel won a race for Toro Rosso, the only race they've ever won. When he won races by the dozen for Red Bull, it wasn't much fun. When he won a few for Ferrari it was nice to see that he could still do it.

stairs
a stare at the stairs for one last time. they are the stairs that took me to my room for a considerable amount of time. their material, a metal grid. probably better for rainy climates. at the bottom, the foreign world. at the top, a vibrant view of the evening sun.
i take one final trip up. one final look into the corridor. I feel a firm breeze blowing from behind. memories of my time from inside speak to me. the suppers of my beloved friends inside. their bickerings about unwashed dishes. their lowest points. their little jumps of excitement. it gets unbearable. I quickly go inside, drop my final piece excess belonging in the kitchen. I see her for one last time.

04 July 2025
As the weather is now cooler my brain starts slowly to work again.
Since the last weekend we had always temperatures around 30 - 37 degrees C, it was... not pleasant, and if i think that we are not really in the part of the year when it is traditionally getting really hot (that would be around August to September) i a am not really happy looking forward.
Last weekend, at the beginning of the heatwave, we visited a local airshow. Glider aerobatics, oldtimer biplanes... junior really loved it and my wife couldn't stop filling the memory of her smartphone with an enormous amount of photos and videos. I myself also enjoyed it... and a small part of the airshow containing model planes triggered that itch of the modeler in me that has not participated in the hobby for years. Well... perhaps in fall or winter i may be able to finish the model i have sitting in its carton in the barn for some time now. I bet junior will also have fun.

Follow me through a little journey
Today's tale will walk through some music, and a little exploration into a hypothetical about it.
The song I Will Follow You into the Dark is a quite meaningful song to me. Having read up a little about it, it's got quite an interesting journey. Originally, the song was meant to be played with the whole band's setup, as you would do when a band goes to record. But by happenstance, Ben Gibbard, the singer, played through it on guitar alone during a break, and the result seemed good enough to record as-is instead. Thus, this rock band features a quiet guitar ballad in the midst of their other songs, providing quite a contrast.

I'm looking for a protocol description of 'gemlog' and 'gemini feed'. Can anyone point me to links? (I am studiously avoiding the word 'definitive' here intentionally) 🤔
