Dan Neidle Said That Tax Evasion Facilitator Mr Zahawi (Working to Silence Bloggers Through Brett Wilson LLP) Targeted Not Only Him (But The Others Kept Quiet)
Earlier this week: Dan Neidle Said "It Really Then Became a Job of Tormenting" Lawyers Like Brett Wilson LLP (Who Threatened Him for Exposing Crimes, Just Like They Threatened My Wife a Few Months Later) | Brett Wilson LLP Uses Threats to Demand Changes to Pages or Removal of Pages Without Even Revealing Which Staff Member Does That (Sometimes People From Another Firm!)
Looking at some older material, one can find this article about SLAPPs and how they keep critical information hidden from the wider public. There are several articles to that effect as Dan Neidle explained the impact of this phenomenon on what politicians know, not only what non-politicians are made aware of.
To quote: "Mr Neidle said after repelling Mr Zahawi he was contacted by bloggers and tweeters who had received similar threats. They deleted their work “and in most cases never commented publicly on anything again”."
Right, just like at the EPO. They silence people with threats and sometimes SLAPPs. We know for sure that it also happened at the Polish Patent Office (UPRP).
"In other words," the article says, "scrutineers and critics were silenced. He accepted that among the legal fraternity, he probably wasn’t popular for talking about the need for reform – libel is good work for the lawyers after all."
They profit from it! And they fail to disclose who pays them to do this. That is a scandal in its own right. We'll cover this in depth one day.
To quote more: "But one of the suggestions he shared was to push libel cases into a small claims court-style system, which he said would mean “having informal hearings where the best case outcome for the winner is a requirement that the defendant apologises, no costs, no lawyers”."
At the moment, a libel lawsuit can cost both sides up to a million pounds, sometimes more. That means that the outcomes gravitate towards censorship, not justice. It means that the richer party (e.g. company) gets to gag critics. █
