    There's an absurd claim that's made in the leasehold debate in the UK, to the effect that leasehold doesn't exist outside England and Wales. It's become important to find counterexamples to that.

    I'm not sure how I missed it, but there is an example very close at hand: Ireland!

    Someone pondered why there were not fractal tuning systems, or fractal scales. Alas, these sorts of things have already been invented, but may require digging around in the more esoteric corners of music theory.

    (I'm not a financial professional; I'm just a girl who reads a lot. This is not financial advice; it's me saying what I see. I'm probably no more trustworthy than your weed-smoking friend who is full of "hot stock tips" yet somehow also always flat broke.)

    For a while now, I've suspected generative AI stock is overvalued. The more I read and pay attention, however, the more I'm convinced that generative AI has the entire market overvalued - including the parts that aren't explicitly using generative AI.

    This is a rapid memory dump of happenings that I can immediately recall. I *kick* myself for not keeping a journal during this period of my life. Maybe I would have been on the NYT Best Sellers list...

    Working as a "Family Room Specialist" which meant I either restored your iPad and/or iPhone or swapped the device(s) either under warranty or payment (out of warranty / physical damage). I also gave One to One sessions.

    • An opt-in search engine: Xobaque

      I've been writing a search engine that doesn't crawl the web called Xobaque. You can test it here. (I'm currently having problems with Let's Encrypt and therefore this is HTTP only, for the moment.)

      Xobaque is entirely opt-in and push based: web admins have total control over what they want to have indexed. The drawback is that web admins have to upload their pages!

      I foresee this to be a solution for sites that don't have good local search, like Emacs Wiki, or communities, like all the blogs on Planet Emacslife. If we want to rely less on big search engines, we have to provide our own.
