IBM Layoffs in MCC, or Marketing, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
8 days ago, based on internal rumours, Red Hat was discussing instructions from IBM regarding layoffs. We don't know the outcome, but time will tell. "Heard about 3 managers in our division," someone said 6 days ago. "No idea who though. Just email from on high."
Maybe they only discussed the details without executing just yet.
Over the past week there was also this long discussion (20 posts in a thread) regarding MCC:
"5 CMOs in 4 years has to be a world record," one comment there said yesterday evening. We wrote about it back in May.
IBM's debt is rising at the pace of 20,000 million dollars (or $20,000,000,000) per year. Artificially inflating the stock/share price, as people correctly note, is just casino. IBM and Microsoft inflate their share price by circular financing (which ought to be illegal and was investigated by the FTC until the Cheeto Putin took over) on at least two levels: 1) Microsoft "pays" companies (like "Open" "AI") to become its clients, i.e. Microsoft pays itself to fake revenue; 2) Microsoft pays salaries and bonuses to staff in the form of stock awards, in other words Microsoft is merely buying shares in itself. It then puts further restrictions on sale of such awards, so they're not convertible to cash (short of severe penalties). █
