Financing of the "Hey Hi" (AI) Bubble by Those Who Profit From Planetary Destruction (Global Warming)
It's about personal gain, too (never mind if this gain results in droughts and famine)
Yesterday in Daily Links the title was "AI" Scammers/Profiteers Admit It's a "Bubble", Softbank-Saudi (Oil) Control Tech Companies (alluding to remarks from Scam Altman and further information on who funds this ridiculous bubble of Altman). When weapons companies (manufacturers) control foreign policy we get more wars. When companies that sell oil (energy) control companies that consume energy, we'll always have more waste. Hence all this slop (misframed as "intelligence") hype, with laughable slogans like "era of AI", "age of AI", "AI revolution", and "AI arms race". What they call "AI" is not AI and AI is actually very old (50+ years).
What they promote is slop. It's plagiarism with obfuscation by brute force. It increases consumption of energy and increases its price. Similarly, Saudis funding and thus controlling Uber means that the automobile sector is controlled by those who profit from petrol. "Also," an associate notes, "Softbank is Saudi but there seems to be a campaign to misrepresent it as Japanese. And Uber is an affront to mass transit. Effective urban environments have and require public transport."
Softbank is pretty much the last company still willing to lose a lot of money for Altman to pretend he has potential ("GPT-5" is a disaster, but it consumes a lot of energy for no practical gain). █
Later the media quotes to us as climate luminaries people who have 4+ private aircrafts and who routinely use "The Lolita Express" (a jet that provides access to underage sex)
