Current Events in France
There are significant mass layoffs in Microsoft France (the Western media didn't mention this enough; French media did) and last month Windows was at an all-time low there (GNU/Linux had gained a lot at its expense).
We don't want to comment on political events and issues with expense or debt; the public debt alone looks like this:

Not very compatible/comparable figures, but it does help show that France has out-of-control debt (compared to near neighbours).
Never mind the reason (Germany likes to blame social programs).
It needs to dump Microsoft and other GAFAM (US) giants, move to Free software. That won't solve all the debt issues, but it can help a lot. █
