RMS Told Microsoft to Stop 'Secure Boot' (He Even Went There to Say That), But They Didn't Listen

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Sep 09, 2025

disable Secure Boot

Dr. Stallman (RMS) assumed that speaking to sociopaths would work

In 2019, a few weeks before he got "cancelled" (probably to distract from what Bill Epsteingate had done with Jeffrey Epstein at MIT; it was gaining tremendous media attention at the time), RMS went to Microsoft to give a talk. After the talk, which he hardly announced in advance (almost nobody was aware), I asked him to explain the talk and he then wrote about it. Notice his first suggestion to Microsoft (#1 among 9 in total):

Help keep computers unlocked (no 'secure boot' that restricts what systems we can run). Truly secure boot means YOU specify what system is allowed to run in your computer.

Of course his suggestion to Microsoft was ignored by Microsoft, which soon afterwards turned GitHub into a GPL-attacking machine (this week there are also reports of massive security breaches connected to GitHub).

I considered it a mistake to go speak there (even before MIT turned against RMS while protecting the real pedophilia/rape enabler [1, 2], Bill Epsteingate), just like the UEFI award.
