People Get Tired of "Hey Hi" (AI), Unlike the Subservient Money-Obsessed Media That Gets Paid to Pretend This Bubble Still Matters
There is currently an online conflict (somewhat veiled though) between corrupt sites like The Register MS and people who actually live on the same planet and don't receive "Hey Hi" (AI) marketing money for hype.
As surveys show, even large businesses have outgrown this hype/fetish. They actively reduce the use of slop. They don't see efficiency benefits. Some of them got conned by false marketing about capabilities and future capacity/potency (throwing more energy at the problem does not improve things).
The bubble will burst; how or when we don't know, but we know what companies will be impacted the worst [1, 2] because their go-to excuse for mass layoffs is "hey hi" and temporary revenue boosts are nothing but hype.
We won't be crying for fools who invested in this bubble. As someone put it yesterday, "boomer execs think AI is magic" and AI "crash will be way bigger than dot.com burst in 90s. and that was Internet, actually transformative technology, not this expensive AI toy with direct dependency on the energy input which is not scalable". █
