Ask Ubuntu About "Secure Boot" Violation and Laptops That Don't Boot GNU/Linux

Depending on the hardware, how often one reboots and whether one's PC defaults to "Secure Boot" it seems likely we'll be hearing more stories and troubles over the next few weeks. Firmware is notoriously buggy (the bugs get hidden away by a dark screen), it is risky to update, and Microsoft sometimes updates it without even asking the user (in Windows). Some users will notice when the SSD starts breaking apart.
Does anyone still believe that "Secure Boot" has anything at all to do with security? █
