"Use Wayland" Isn't a Bugfix for X (X11 is Still Necessary)
GNOME is now run by IBM. The weekly GNOME Foundation reports are already authored by IBM staff.
Yes, IBM. In case you didn't get the memo, the Red Hat brand is already being phased out, piece-wise [1, 2], just like GitHub [1, 2].
They tell us X is "dead" and we must all be herded into Wayland ASAP.
But wait, it gets better.
They also admit Wayland isn't working. They go back to X.
OK, Red Hat, OK...
So all those "Wayland People" [1, 2] heckling us X users have something to think about. Many GNU/Linux users value stability and reliability. █
