Free Software Foundation (FSF) Has a New Press Kit for the Weekend After Next Weekend (40th Anniversary)
The FSF is turning 40 very soon. Eko K.A. Owen (FSF staff) said at the end of last week that as 04/10/25 approaches there are ways to help without physical presence. "We are expecting all kinds of people, including activists, hackers, legal professionals, artists, educators, students, developers, policymakers, and hobby tinkerers to participate in FSF40," Owen wrote. "The greater the variety of experiences we have, the greater the ability we have to take on proprietary software and the challenges to software freedom to come. Everyone has something valuable to contribute to the free software movement, and the same can be said for our fortieth celebration. [...] Even if you can't join us for FSF40 live in Boston or online (we really hope you can!), you can help us reach more free software supporters who can. By sharing the word about FSF40, you'll help us honor four decades of progress in software freedom."
"Post about FSF40 on your social media accounts" is among the points there, linking to this page. Better to close one's social [sic] media [sic] accounts if one values freedom. There are other ways to promote the message of Software Freedom, without participating in things that are inherently hostile towards Software Freedom and freedom in general (all social [sic] media [sic] is all about censorship).
That last point says, "share our press kit with blogs and news sites that you read." It is a 13-page PDF. It's actually quite good and informative - miles better than social [sic] media [sic] quips, moderated by narcissists and oil tycoons to shape/distort narratives, for personal gain. █
