POWER mentioned not even once in this new press release:
"Right now," says this comment from one hour ago, "IBM is still trying to figure out what business it's in. All the executive management knows is that they need cash flow, but they're having trouble focusing on larger goals."
"Yet more bad news for Power" was the title. There's consensus that IBM's POWER is in trouble. For quite some time insiders have asked/worried for its fate, saying it would be the next big casualty of IBM's cuts.
"Lisa Su is happy right where she is," an earlier comment said. "Besides, she already worked at IBM and knows how toxic it is."
Novell was ruined by another person from IBM, Ronald Hovsepian.
