They've Run Out of Things to Rebrand or Label as "AI"
The domain boycottnovell.com was registered 7/11/2006, so a month from now is our anniversary. 19 years ago the world of GNU/Linux was very different, not just because of the status of software patents but also because people used Windows XP and it was very prevalent. Many people still carried around Motorolas and Nokias. Those use Symbian or similar. Blackberry was sort of "new" at the time and not many people had a Blackberry. Text messages and calls were the main functionality/ies.
So Windows was... everywhere!
We've come a long way since then and it looks like Microsoft is circling down the drain, with XBox being the "next Skype". The leadership shuffle at Microsoft targets a buzzword and a scam, nothing more:
So as debt spins out of control they label even the CEO with the "AI" buzzword. Definitely not a bubble!!!
The next few years will be interesting because if Microsoft lays off tens of thousands of workers each year, there won't be much left except mountains of debt and dying brands. █
