Linus Torvalds announced the RC1 (first Release Candidate) of Linux 6.18 this past weekend, as usual, and on schedule. It didn't take long for "shitposting" in Microsoft's LinkedIn to start:

Such slop images are always a gas. Usually the 'code' in them makes no sense at all. Google News did not make visible the message from Torvalds, nor did it link to LWN's reproductions of the words of Torvalds. Instead, right now it promotes this fake article from a slopfarm, along with the above in social control media (Microsoft's LinkedIn):

Imagine wanting to find what Torvalds has just said or what has just been released. Instead of finding the actual information Google (and Google News) presents LLM slop and some blurb from Microsoft's LinkedIn, which conflates Linux with jQuery. █
