Generation Chaff - Phase III: Slop and Plagiarism
The "Tech" (with capital T) bubbles weren't unprecedented. Those had gone back to the 90s. They wanted us to think the Internet revolutionised things to the point where nothing would exist outside it. Sort of like "metaverse" or "AR" and all those other inane fantasies. They assumed all humans would choose not to be human and society would be dictated by bots. We are currently seeing growing resistance to chatbots and, despite prompts being shoved into every GAFAM interface, usage is declining. People are getting fed up. Yes, they're being force-fed slop, but they push back.
Why is this happening? Just to re-classify another thing as "AI" and fake growth in "AI"... to delay the implosion of the bubble Microsoft keeps harping to shareholders about.
Plagiarism aspects of slop are not just a legal issue/barrier. Plagiarism means that people will value and seek out originals. They will see and laugh at the low value of automated copycats.
This too shall pass. It's just riding a humongous mountain of debt, in affect subsiding a Big Lie.
A lot of the current so-called 'economy' is built upon false valuations, which are used as "collaterals" for debt that can never be paid back. This will not end well. It cannot. █
