Slopwatch: LinuxSecurity.com, Linux Journal, and Pet Slopfarms of Google News
This batch of Slopwatch will be focused on sites that are 100% fake "content" or LLM slop. Some that we named in the past have quit doing it; either they reverted back to real articles or they stopped publishing altogether. Both outcomes are desirable. Slop is a major problem for the Web and beyond; it erodes information and therefore damages intelligence. Slopfarm LinuxSecurity.com having another go at pure slop:
The slop is as dreadful of those bland headlines. This is a form of SEO spam, put together by LLMs.
Linux Journal has also produced some slop, combined with low-grade slop images:
The first one is LLM slop about LLMs. That's what we've been reduced to: BS about BS.
Slopfarms in Google News (same operator, not even much diversity in titles and the images are lousy slop):
Those are always Linux-hostile, the images and text are always fake too.
Also this one from a sister slopfarm:
Why does Google News still advance these fake sites to the top of search results? Google News is meant to be curated for quality. It clearly fails at that. █
