Under IBM, Red Hat Seems to be Bribing or 'Schmoozing' Officials and Decision-Makers (Just Like at IBM and Microsoft)
This was hours ago:
Say what you will about the above, but many of the grinning faces above are in effect celebrating long-distance trips funded or managed by IBM Red Hat - trips whose purpose is to "wine and dine" - to basically sell them products, not projects. Or proprietary distros.
The "wine and dine" euphemism is often a veil for bribery or other forms of corruption. Small companies in the UK cannot quite afford to fly over people from South American nations to Europe, then shower them with extravagant events and fancy dinners.
This is the sort of thing IBM turns Red Hat into.
This isn't your average coffee shop in London:
Welcome to the "higher echelons", where your decisions are up for grabs after the exquisite bottle of wine and 5-star hotel journey (flown in from a poor country to a financial centre). █
