Why People Should Quit Using the Word "Woke" (It's Meaningless and Divisive Nonsense)
Older: The Apache Logo News is VERY Old, Racists and 'Anti-Woke' Bigots Look for Something to Incite Other Bigots With | Schmock, Not Woke
The term "Woke" is typically used by the far right (not "conservatives") these days. If you see the word "Woke" somewhere, then look away and move on. Don't waste time on the divisive nonsense. To some people, anything that doesn't agree with their worldview is instantaneously deemed "Woke". To them, opposing corruption and autocracy is "antifa" and thus "domestic terrorism". Critics are "enemies".
I fully and genuinely understand the roots or the genesis of that term ("Woke"); I really do. But it has since then grown wings and became an insult, a pejorative or sorts, kind of like "conspiracy".
We need to articulate thoughts - including criticisms - in terms that are not just neutral but also meaningful. Terms like "fake news" and "woke" (or "Woke" with capital W) got hijacked and are now better off avoided.
There is an ideological war waged online and the warfare is controlled "from above" by oligarchs who stand to gain from a divided and fractured populace. █
