Investing in Speech
In 2022 my wife and I both quit our jobs over principles (we sent a notice of resignation around 1AM on December second, only minutes apart). I had prepared this blog post for weeks, explaining that decision.
Last year we did the same after we had been bullied online. Accountability was needed. No matter the cost.
In 2026 we'll continue our relentless curation and reporting on GNU/Linux, EPO etc. It doesn't matter how hard people will try to stop us, the right thing to do is what we're doing right now.
Unless you're into karma (Buddhism), you grok the phrase "you only live once" and you need to make it count. While you can feasibly and physically take your money with you to the grave, no sane person would actually do this. So use your money to do what benefits society and stop hoarding.
"The FSF calls politization of cancel culture "Censorship Envy"," someone reminds me in IRC right now, citing this old article in relation to one of our own.
Censorship avoidance is our latest battle that we invest money in. Some people depend on being able to hide what they said (and regret saying). █
