Microsoft is Not a Skill, Microsoft is a Liability

Microsoft does not teach skills and acquiring knowledge related to Microsoft products is typically worthless unless you 1) work for Microsoft or 2) enter some Microsoft shop.
We've repeatedly heard from readers the fear of "former" Microsoft staff entering their company. Because instead of those people trying to learn new skills (like UNIX), they try to impose what they already know - i.e. Microsoft products - on everybody else. Colleagues cannot stand this.
If Microsoft laid off 30,000+ people so far this year (by our count, it has), then it's important to be super-cautious about absorbing or hiring them because it might end up pissing off all the other workers. █
