Today I Learned That 13,500 Layoffs in a Single Company is "Small"
Earlier this month: IBM May Well Be Laying Off Over 13,500 and Up to 27,000 Staff This Week When It Says "Single-Digit Percentage of Our Global Workforce"
Hours ago in Microsoft's MSN:
Aside from the "AI" nonsense above (it has nothing to do with actual intelligence, it's just typical corporate media relaying typical lies and bluster), notice how the latest IBM layoffs wave (RAs) is described.
I've only just noticed that because someone linked to it and said: "What a surprise ? Not ! More barefaced lies and FUD from Alvind, Krabanaugh and the Pipmunks. But we all know that already. Whatever happened to Design Thinking ? It went out of fashion. We need new IBM buzzwords for putting a load of BS on Kramer."
That speaks of IBM's CEO and his management that puts staff on PIPs (many will just 'resign' to save face), plus the corporate media lies, which IBM pays for, typically broadcast via the mouth of Mr. Kramer (whose "recommendations" are classified as "entertainment" for legal reasons; those are basically fakes, so he is conning people).
The sole comment there says: "If you are a Gen Z, brace yourself if you decide to work for IBM... It is going to be a roller coaster for sure. There is no guarantee for everything and you will be a target for layoffs like anybody else. Heads up!"
Another new thread is entitled "Will layoffs ever end in the future? Or will layoffs continues at their rapid pace for the next decade and beyond?"
From what we can gather, the current wave (RAs) isn't over but ongoing. The only comment says: "easy answer... it is IBM's only playbook... It will never stop and will probably accelerate under the next CEO (RT). Brace yourself."
RT is Rob Thomas, who's being criticised a lot, sometimes in rude terms. He was recently for being all coy and "thankful" while he and his buddies lay off thousands of people during holidays (sometimes to be replaced by people who lack the notion of a Thanksgiving and Christmas):
The top comments are just his millionaire IBM colleagues (take note of job titles) sucking up to him:
How many cars and how many car parks do their homes have? Yes, plural. █
