Supporting the Free Software Foundation (FSF) Also Supports GNU Development
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) has just 4 weeks left to raise 400k (US dollars). It has been raising money since last month and the donation drive is picking up pace:
The FSF is mostly raising money to pay salaries (the compensation for its Executive Director nearly doubled). But that also helps cover hosting bills, which means GNU and FSF. Some are very highly essential because they contain official documentation and software downloads. █
Larry Sanger this week (Sanger co-founded Wikipedia): "Wikipedia earned $184M from donations last year. Keeping the servers running costs lest than $5M. They don't need your money."
