On IBM: "More Layoffs in Minnesota Are Coming" (Unverified Hearsay, for Now)
We are trying to keep abreast (or on top) of anonymous comments, identifying what's more credible, plausible and of course significant/meaningful (based on an in-depth understanding of these matters). According to a new comment in this thread, the next wave of IBM layoffs (which is said to be underway; lists of people allegedly get compiled for "low performance", which isn't unprecedented and is difficult to keep secret) will hit the US and less than an hour ago somebody explained that "it is good to let go. forget about this old obsolete company. It is basing its whole existence on AI. It is a useless goal and will never produce anything but nonstop downsizing. That wasn't the original IBM. Blame the in dia dudes. Then blame the morons who hired in dia dudes."
Prior to that:
While working at IBM, I witnessed many instances where senior engineers, STSM,s DEs engineers refused to do any development work (design, implement, ...). Their days were spent making charts, sitting in meeting .... (no value added). They were good at bullying, lying and brown nosing ... .I also worked with some that did a great job at the engineering work, these were the first to go on the RA list under the excuse, they were too expensive.
And also:
At least I am glad that people are starting to realize how LAZY many of the people at IBM were. Most of these people were in leadership and management, but some were tenured employees too. Absolute wastes of space that had no talent and always needed to siphon off the hard work of underlings.
IBM is having loads of layoffs before the holidays. That the mainstream media fails or refuses to report on the scale of these layoffs says a lot about the media and what IBM does to media. █
