EPO Call for Action: Get Ready to Contact Your National Delegates, We Need to Remind Them That They Represent People
Making sacrifices (at the expense of immediate conveniences) is what guards functioning democracies
Earlier this month: Call for Media Awareness and Action Bears Fruit, European Patent Office (EPO) Has a History of Contempt for the Media (Also: the EPO's Communication Chief Does Cocaine) | Short Survey of Past Media Coverage About Campinos, EUIPO, and a Call for Action on EPO Press Coverage
In the coming few days we'll encourage firm, assertive action. For EPO staff, we strongly encourage voting for industrial action/s. There's still time! Then, please do participate in industrial action/s. Making a sacrifice is what drives society forward and corrects ills. Did you not vote? Not yet? What is your excuse?
For people who are not EPO staff no industrial action/s is possible, but we can all help another way. We can contact our national representatives ahead of next week's assembly. We should. We must.
See, most of us in Europe don't need to go to trenches and fight vicious "bastards"; stepping outside the comfort zone to write some words (over E-mail, no envelopes or stamps necessary) is enough to contribute to a "shake-up" at the corrupt EPO, which EPO staff says is run by a "Mafia" (based on private letters that we saw, they certainly act that way).
Today or tomorrow we'll publish contact details for national representatives in nearly 50 European nations. If you live in such a nation, please don't click away, do your share and tell those national representatives how you feel. Use your native language please; it signals to them that you're akin to a constituent, not a mass-mailing activist. █
