The Indigenous Community Versus Corporate AstroTurt and 'Cancel Culture'
Community built GNU. It started at MIT in Boston. It was done by unpaid volunteers. GNU was later fused in with a kernel, as a graduate or recently-graduated student at Manchester Computing Centre (MCC) combined a kernel developed by a Finnish student with the many tools from MIT 'hackers'. The Finnish student released Linux the same year that other student finished his Ph.D. at the Department of Philosophy in the Victoria University of Manchester (combined with UMIST about 15 years later). At this point GNU/Linux wasn't controlled by a company, nor was it directed or sponsored by one.
Fast-forward a few decades and they try to overthrow the community. They tell us it's "for the better" of the projects. Charlatans and frauds like Jim Zemlin bag over a million dollars a year to misuse the "Linux" brand and sell Microsoft control over it (the pot is named "Linux Foundation" - a misleading name) and they try to tell us the founder of GNU is the problem, not the people who actually use/support Jeffrey Epstein's services. Follow the money of these nefarious campaigns to find monopolies that shovel proprietary software and pile up back doors.
Good people will recognise exactly what's happening here and respond to it tactfully. █
