Western Africa is vast (bigger than Europe depending on boundaries set). Some of it speaks French, many speak English too. That's because of colonialism. When it comes to Microsoft (US), its grips is clearly slipping away and shown above is the trend in Ghana.
Many years ago there was a site called Ghabuntu (no traces left of it anymore; we linked to it many times until 2012) and back then I spoke to people in Ghana over social control media (typically Identi.ca). The image above shows that there's a gradual increase in GNU/Linux usage there. █
