Freedom of Speech in the UK (or Freedom of the Press/Expression) and Protection From Adversaries
British politicians might soon block Twitter, helped from or guided by the input from Ofcom [1, 2]. Then they might even quit Twitter (now X.com) and no longer participate in it as a platform through which to communicate to constitutes, press etc.
MElon is trying to frame this as a "free speech" thing, but undressing people without consent and in very bad taste is not "speech", it's a form of malice, vandalism, even pedophilia when applied to underage individuals' photographs.
Sadly, the term "free speech" has been very badly distorted. 3 months ago in the High Court I had to explain that people publicly speaking about stabbing and punching people isn't funny (or, even if they find it funny, it won't be funny to other people, especially those talked about). █
