Yesterday we spoke about the European Union (EU), which we generally support and have always supported. Why does the EU do nothing about the EPO? Is it because EPO corruption has spread to the EU? Are they trying to wash their hands after Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos (former EU) turned Europe's second-largest organisation and largest patent office into a hub of corruption?
Also, does the EU tolerate management of Europe's second-largest organisation doing illegal drugs?
Can EU officials not recognise how damaging this will turn out to be? Cocainegate isn't going away any time soon and we've begun asking officials who very likely know about these cocaine problems relevant question so as to give them a chance to respond (to defend themselves). A lack of response will be interpreted as passive acknowledgement, not necessarily culpability, but this won't age well for them.
We eagerly await either their response or lack thereof so that we can progress with our reporting. There are principles in laws which tie awareness with complicity. █
