Robert X. Cringely Has Already Explained IBM's Bullying Culture (Towards Its Own Staff)
Robert X. Cringely has been active as a journalist for many years, even decades. Over a decade ago he devoted a great deal of his professional capacity and energy to covering IBM's collapse. He has not blogged in 3 years (but let's be fair, he turned 70 around this time and he has no obligation to still be active).
Published 10 years ago was material of his in sites other than his own, e.g.:
13 years ago He explained how IBM bullies workers into silence. Having just stumbled upon it, that seems to have remained applicable.
Notice how workers of IBM laid off by IBM in the latest wave never mention "RAs" or "layoffs". They almost always use euphemisms such as "last day" and that's because of NDAs and extortion tactics by IBM [1, 2].
This was just two hours ago:
IBM tries to keep critics quiet. It wrote to me several times over the years to try to "control the narrative" and even made an international phonecall to me (it lasted nearly an hour; it was around 2011). That's because I condemned their attempts to change what I wrote.
IBM is a fairly nasty company. I keep hearing this from Red Hat people (in private). I've heard this from two people this past week alone. █
