Sanitised Plagiarism as "AI" (How Oligarchy Plots to Use Slop to Hide or Distract From Its Abuses, or Cause People Not to Trust Anything They See/Read Online)
Suppose you do lots of evil things and want to curtail people knowing about it all or being able to discover information about any of it.
You know, a form of population control or social control (the latter has a less negative connotation).
What if putting your finger on social control media "outrage cycles" isn't enough? Like misusing algorithms to manipulate how (or what) people communicate, who can communicate, and what spreads most widely.
How would you go about accomplishing that at a large scale without any input from "users"?
Generating lots of fake photos of people, or photos of fake people, or a so-called 'encyclopedia' that twists or omits things... or copies of articles which omit the "unflattering" things while depriving the original/s of traffic... what does one call it?
Or "AI"?
Or permutation for plagiarism in pursuit of an ‘anti-press push’? No need to raid journalists' homes to intimidate them, right? Notice that all those willing to lose billions if not trillions (or dollars/euros) on things that will never be profitable are shady people who butcher journalists, fetishise violence, and reject real democracy. Heck, they never hold elections.
If people get (or got) tired of this thing that bribed media calls "AI", who can blame them?
Those people aren't dumb or "backwards"; they understand more or less what's truly going on. Google, for instance, does not want people to read sites, it wants to process and censor what sites publish, then serve misleading, incomplete, and intentionally biased "summaries".
This isn't innovation but repression.
GAFAM isn't technology but a technology arm (or corps) of military. █
