The Bluewashing is Making Red Hat Extinct (They All Become "IBM", Little by Little)
This year many people who say they work for "Red Hat" will 'leave' to become "IBM" (whether they like it or not doesn't matter; they can resign without severance for rejecting such an "offer"). This is one among many examples, only an hour old:
As we said this morning, don't expect to hear of Red Hat layoffs because it's not Red Hat anymore. Bluewashing is turning Red Hat employees into blue smurfs with IBM logos. Many are (from what we've heard) being pushed out because IBM "doesn't need them" (or something to that effect, not direct quote).
PIPs are one example, but Stack(ed) Rankings as we illuminated this morning became a form of PIP which can impact 10-15% of all staff. As somebody put it half an hour ago: "It is stupid and even not allowed in some countries. IBM's definition of low performance suggests not being able to peform properly, which may result in PIP and dismissal. They should label it differently. But then again, they will seek excuses to people go."
IBM does not care what's legal; it leverages illegal NDAs, settles lawsuits (in secret) over its allegedly illegal handling of staff, it intimidates whistleblowers, and it skirts the WARN Act [1, 2]. █
