How Microsoft Will Tell Shareholders That the Business is Failing in a Few Days
It'll resort to "AI" storytelling (lying about slop having potential for some unspecified future year)
Microsoft's understaffed (Azure/Microsoft downtime lasted almost 2 days in Australia!), under-utilised (over-provisioned to fake "demand"), over-complicated and poorly-built infrastructure continues to rot. This seems to be happening every month, on average:

Sooner or later many of them will just dump Microsoft, leaving Microsoft with no choice but implementing many more Azure layoffs (those have happened a lot every year since 2020) - just like in XBox (sales collapsed, mass layoffs followed). The debt will continue to grow regardless and Microsoft is already compelled to come up with a "narrative" for shareholders:
![[brain levels] 'reorg' or 'restructuring' Efficiency layoffs, AI layoffs](/i/2026/01/layoff-ideas.png)
See, even when they fail they try to twist this failure (mass layoffs, even closures) as "AI" success or as "proof" or "AI efficiency" or some nonsense like that. █
