IBM to Announce 'Results' Shortly, Expect Lots of Chaff Like "Quantum" and "Hey Hi" (Nothing Material to Show)
We're still seeing layoffs and an exodus (e.g. "More People Exit Red Hat, Join Amutable").

About an hour from now IBM will announce so-called 'results' (the scare quotes are used for a reason). It'll combine numbers from acquired companies, so the numbers don't tell the full story, nor are they properly audited by independent outsiders. The latter problem isn't unique to IBM; it's a Wall Street thing.
IBM insiders (one can tell they work or worked there until recently) are mocking IBM's own offerings:

This one speaks of "dismal" offerings:

A short while ago somebody spoke of the culture inside IBM (unlike what Red Hat used to be): "Gave me much relief I am not the only one feeling and experiencing this at IBM. I attend the Albany Research center in New York and the location is entirely run on politics. Nepotism, cronyism and favoritism rule the site. It’s run by a small group that has been in charge since the beginning. Merit and hard work and accomplishments mean little here what matters most is if you are one the favorites. It seems the locations intended is for personal gain of small group and their acolytes and not for semiconductors."
Another person rightly speaks of a "Ponzi" scheme. IBM's debt is fast-growing. █
